PANACeA final event in Spain

On 14-16th October, the University of Girona (UdG) participated to an international event on Biodiversity Protection and management, organized by the PANACeA project.

The event gathered around 100 Mediterranean representatives to debate on effective collaboration mechanisms for more integrated management of the natural resources.

The UdG participated in a round table where several key issues concerning the sustainable management of marine ecosystems in the Mediterranean where discussed, among which leisure boating and recreational fisheries, two key sectors that have been considered within the PHAROS4MPAs project.

The international, national and regional cooperation is needed to tackle major environmental and socioeconomic challenges facing these sectors, as demonstrated in the policy briefs and recommendations produced by PHAROS4MPAs and that can be found at https://pharos4mpas.interreg-med.eu/index.php?id=9098
